The New River Basin has many resources available too us however this basin is also protected not only federally but state and communally. Consequently we do not take very many resources from this basin however we do take the following things:

- Ore and Rock
- Water
- Game
New River Gorge National River, Bluestone National Scenic River, and Gauley River National Recreation Area lie at the core of the globally significant Appalachian forest, and New River Gorge contains the most diverse flora of any river gorge in central and southern Appalachia. Besides providing essential habitat for endangered mammals, rare birds and amphibians, a dedicated botanist could find 1383 different species of plants in the boundaries of the New River Gorge National River. The entire New River Basin gives home to many other forests and grass lands.
